Who rescues lifeguard stands? Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, of course.

Though not human — and definitely not kittens in trees — several lifeguard stands needed saving at Crandon Park on Key Biscayne in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

The storm stayed offshore in the Atlantic on its way toward New Jersey, but areas like Crandon Beach took heavy coastal flooding. Palm trees were suddenly in the ocean, a “river” flowed behind the beach, and debris was everywhere.
